HISTORY

Photo with all the children and the staff of the association at the entrance of the day care centre Sizozi

In 2006, parents and friends of visually impaired people (partial or total vision loss) with additional disabilities (mental retardation, autism, neurological disorders, motor and sensory problems, etc.) created the association with the aim of providing our children with all the conditions for the best possible opportunities for education, development, and overall quality of life.

The inaugural statute was drafted in April 2007, signifying the official inception of our Association, which was previously known as “Amimoni – Association of Thessaloniki” and was based in Kalamaria. We owe our gratitude to the members of “Amimoni”, who inspired, guided and empowered us during our early steps. They were instrumental in our establishment, and we shall be eternally thankful.

Since 2015, we have maintained our goal under the name “Syzoi” which perfectly encapsulates the opinion and the strong will of parents and guardians, “that our children live, not in parallel, but together with others”.
