The Interdisciplinary Network of Special & Intercultural Education, Include and the Parents & Guardians Association Friends with Visual Impairments and Additional Disabilities, SYZOI organize on Friday, February 24, 2023 , at 18:30 – 21:00, at the Thessaloniki Municipal Hall – Manolis Anagnostakis Hall, the presentation of the results of the A.N.A.A.S.A. program, which was implemented with a donation from the Ioannis S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation in the framework of the Points of Support program co-funded by 8 charitable organizations.
The program for teaching breathing techniques to people with autism and multiple disabilities, entitled A.N.A.A.S.A., – Access Neuro Alert & Self Awareness, was developed by the Interdisciplinary Network of Special & Include and in collaboration with the Association of Parents & Guardians of Children, Include Friends with Visual Impairments and Additional Disabilities, SYZOI was applied to the beneficiaries of SYZOI with substantial results for the participants.
The A.N.A.A.S.A. techniques were chosen among a number of others as the most effective for achieving aerobiosis, the most accessible for independent performance through teaching and the simplest to perform by caregivers. Practicing A.N.A.S.A. breathing techniques also contributes to self-awareness and self-regulation for stress management while being the simplest action towards achieving wellness to improve quality of life.
The A.N.A.A.S.A. project took place between 09 2022 and 12 2022 and was completed with the publication of an illustrated digital guide for special educators and therapists, which will be presented during the event. At the same time, the works of Mrs. Antonia Karapantazi, created as supporting material for A.N.A.S.A., will be exhibited in the hall.
